Originally from Irving, Texas, Les Kay earned a BA in Creative Writing and Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Miami,
where he was a James Michener fellow and the Managing Editor of Mangrove. Since graduating in 1998, he has worked for a variety of interesting corporations in a variety of locales, ranging from Texas to the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2006, he was one of the founding editors of Ward 6 Review, which he designed, built, and helped edit. His poems have appeared in numerous small literary magazines, and he is currently working on a first book manuscript. He currently lives in Cincinnati with his wife and three dogs.
